Get into the van, kiddo.
[Peace is a funny thing. It's been teased and denied for so long that now that it's happening, it's almost weird. He'd missed most of the drama with the princess and her traitorous Terran Knight -- not that he's fully convinced of it, but if it gains them this peace, then he won't question it -- but he had been returned to his kin as Earth's first peace offering.]
[Kuroo hadn't been too happy about that, hadn't even had the time to say good bye to Tsukki after being whisked away by a couple of generals and then thrown into political chaos. But he had endured it, because he knew that eventually, the princess would get to the small issue of Kuroo's kataphrakt and how he intends to spend his time on Earth. He could be a diplomat, he'd offered, or teach his fellow Versians about Terrans, since he's learned a lot. Anything, he had added meaningfully, if he allowed him to keep his landing castle close to Earth if not entirely on its soil.]
[He'd gotten some leeway in the end, after weeks of endless talks, so here he is now striding into the hanger where they kept his mech, in full Count regalia. Oddly enough, he only has Terran escorts with him, and they back away well enough when he reaches his destination.
Tsukki? Oiii, I'm looking for your mechanic, Tsukishima Kei. [first he calls out, and then just outright asks someone to find Tsukki for him]

[and it really was fun, wasn't it. all that time spent wandering around with kuroo in small dates and then tumbling to his bed at the end of the day .... it didn't feel like work, at all.]
no subject
[Uses a finger to tilt Tsukki's head up by the chin, and pecks him again. His thigh presses up between Tsukki's legs.] So now that you're here and staying, is there anything you want sent for from Earth?
no subject
You'd probably need a big carrier, anyway, I'm sure my mom will just add things to the pile. [he lies down on kuroo again, shifting so he's entirely on top of him comfortably and forcing his thigh back down. he wants to rest, mister.]
I want to see my wardrobe. [he makes a face, tugging at kuroo's cravat.] I don't want to wear anything like this, it looks too stuffy.
no subject
I have to properly call on your family to introduce myself and make my intentions known, right? [But he blinks at the mention of the wardrobe.]
We purchased some... um. Denim. And plain shirts. I'm pretty sure they're your size or will suit... well enough. [uncertain. He's not getting up, though. Nope.]
no subject
[he knows they tried, but that really doesn't sound like he's going to be excited to look at his clothes. he'd better ask his mother to send his closet. and everything else in the laundry. he settles with:] If you have a tailor, we can make it work.
no subject
How about, "I fell so deeply and absolutely in love with your son that I couldn't handle not seeing him for so long and just wanted to show him the stars"? [Heh.]
[Oh, hm.] We do have a tailor.
no subject
And anyway, I have to pick up a lot of things from home. You have to understand that what we're doing is all too sudden and they may not like you at all. [hits his head lightly with his fist.] Your title will probably save you from being thrown out of the house, though. So there's that.
At least my mom won't have to worry about me being poor. [he even has a tailor and all.]
no subject
I'm Versian, there isn't much going on for me when it comes to likeability to Terrans. Even you disliked me from the start, right? What are the things I can't talk about with them? [Surely stuff about the war? But Kuroo will extract himself from the comfortable spot he's made with Tsukki to go to a short distance to a comm pad on the wall, where he talks to someone on the other end about going back into the planet's atmosphere and Miyagi. The someone doesn't seem too happy, even chastises Kuroo for his poor planning (but ends the scolding with, "sir."). When Kuroo comes back, it's with more wine and an expression of comical despair.]
no subject
You're used to facing off difficult and scary people. I think, so long as you're honest and you apologize, you'll be fine.
Kidnapping aside, in terms of personality, yours is better than mine. That's one in your favour, at least.
no subject
[squints up at tsukki.]
no subject
[and it's a lot more painful for him to explain it to his work than it is to try and calm down his parents anyway. at least with these people kuroo has a lot of experience in upsetting them and can politicize or bribe his way through.
he just rolls his eyes at kuroo's words as he runs his hands through his hair.] That's the kind of thing that will get you punched. Don't say that.
no subject
[Contrite, and offers his wine as an apology.] Well, I wouldn't take you against your will, obviously.
no subject
[he drinks from his glass, and then gives it back to him. he's not much for wine, really, but it tastes strong enough to get him dizzy and he's been drinking it for a while now.] My family will view that as a threat. They already know they can't do anything against you, so adding that won't do at all.
[he leans his head back against the couch and sighs. kuroo's gonna be yelled at and called a bad influence on the youngest of the family. akiteru will say that he has bad taste in men. his mother might be slightly better. akiteru's the best brother he has, but it's because he's the best that this will be difficult. there's no way they're going to take to the news that he'll be suddenly living with a guy who was a criminal in the first place and then left him for a year only to kidnap him well. especially when tsukki spent the better part of a year or more during their time complaining about him.]
no subject
[He'll finish off the wine in the glass, and then get to his feet.] I guess I need to make a decent impression. No stuffy clothes, right?
no subject
And that was a personal preference, but I think you should go in full regalia, anyway. You're a Count. They have a right to know what you are, who you are. [he's nervous, too, slipping his fingers in between kuroo's own as he holds his hand.] Most families are protective of their kids, but especially over the youngest. If we make a few appearances here and there after, I'm sure you'll win them over eventually.
no subject
I could wear a civilian shirt under the coat, so it's at least easy to... dress down... [doubtful, but he'll listen to Tsukki. Before he can make up his mind about it, the landing castle is entering the atmosphere again. This time, the shuddering of the structure is worse than earlier.]
no subject
hell, the fact that he calls tsukki the way he does is already going to raise a lot of eyebrows when he gets home. he rubs his temples, feeling a headache coming on. he'll try to be optimistic, at least.] Let's board the ship.
no subject
[Kuroo doesn't even bring Tsukki to the talk with his supervisors, though, just tells him to find a vehicle to use to go home as he handles things. He doesn't take very long with that, either, and comes out of the encounter looking a bit smug. The confidence drops when he gets back to Tsukki.]
Right. Now for the hard part.
no subject
[he's trying to be encouraging. he'll stay close to kuroo in the car as they're driven off to his house. most people would probably bring wine or flowers first, but tsukki just wants to get everything over and he really doesn't want to spoil his presents in case everything goes bad. (and they will.)
it doesn't take a long time to get back to his house from the base since there's no traffic anymore that evening. once they get there, tsukki leaves his things in the car and goes to kuroo to straighten his cravat. not that it needs to. he's just nervous.]
Smile.
no subject
Just... Just knock already.
[His spine is ramrod straight and his shoulders stiff. It makes him look more imposing than he means to.]
no subject
[and with that, he opens the gate and knocks on the door and calls out,] I'm home.
[since he disappeared from work without warning, his work probably called his house first to check and see if he had gone home without any notice. his mother comes in first, absolutely worried as she tells him about the phone call. akiteru will come in later to scold him, and both of them stop and stare as they realize that tsukki had brought home a count with him.
like one of those people they see on the news.
his voice is firm at least, when he tells them who he is. (kuroo tetsurou.) what he is. (a count, an orbital knight, pilot of the kataphract arcadia - akiteru turns pale, his mother gasps.) and why he's there. (he's going to live with him. this guy is his lover. he was missing from work this morning because he had come to pick him up and show him his new home and there was some miscommunication regarding his arrival, but it's smoothed over at work now.)
cue outrage. tsukki moving in between akiteru and kuroo ("my baby brother!") and his mother going, "but he's just like those people in the news!" ah, family.]
no subject
[Kuroo gives them a bow, the Versian way, walking stick by his stomach. It's not as sweeping as it could be given the house, but it's just a formality.]
I apologize for giving you cause for worry. It wasn't my intention. [Clears his throat awkwardly as he straightens up.] Just, Kei took very good care of me while I was here, so I was excited to show him space. Er. [He takes a step back because Akiteru is glowering at him very seriously there. Tries to smile?]
no subject
his brother is mostly fussing over politics. the kind that tsukki doesn't really care for ("but you're a terran living in a versian castle!!" "it's his castle, in case you've forgotten.") and a whole bunch of things that was fairly normal for akiteru, mostly wondering about his virtue as well. (tsukki makes no comment on that.) more often than not it's tsukki explaining to them how this began. and to his credit, every time kuroo's attacked he parries the accusations pretty well, although he is losing his patience and his comments are becoming slightly more pointed and sharper than he wants.]
no subject
I've always been for the peace, so please be at ease regarding that. [wearily, giving Tsukki's mother a wavery smile] And after my current duties, I'm sure the Empress will find some use for me here on Earth, as I've asked her to consider. I'm fairly well-versed now in Terran customs thanks to your son, after all.
[And then, reluctantly:] It was a bit slow in coming together, but I've always meant to come back to Tsukki again, after I was returned to my people. [How does he word this? Kuroo Tetsurou, where's your charm now?] If you don't agree that he should live in my castle, then I will respect it. I've already waited this long; I can endure to wait for better opportunity to be closer to him again and be by his side.
no subject
[although it's more or less the same kind of tone he has when he tells yamaguchi to shut up. he's going to live there. don't compromise on that, kuroo, he doesn't want to give up the observation deck. that's all he's saying to him about the subject.
although that seems to have shifted the mood a bit, since now both of them were wondering why the hell did kei just tell this man who's supposedly his lover to shut up .... and kei painstakingly reiterates that their relationship was slow to begin with, and yes it started when he was assigned to him the day after he surrendered to the military, and they've gotten together a lot better than he thought. yes he complained a lot about kuroo, but eventually didn't his complaints stop? and wasn't he upset when he left? weren't they both there to see how upset he was when it happened?
none of this justifies leaving in a rush, and he's sorry for that. another round of explanations follow. another round of answers mostly to questions regarding how they will treat him.]
